2. ISAAC2 MOODY (JESSE I.1)1 was born Abt. 1774 in South Carolina, and died Abt. 1858 in Appling County, Georgia. He married SARAH CARTER2,3 1800 in Barnwell, or Colleton District, South Carolina4, daughter of R. S. GEORGE CARTER. She was born Abt. 1776 in Charleston District, South Carolina, and died Abt. 1863.

Isaac Moody died in Appling County Georgia in 1858. George Moody applied for letters of Administration on October 9, 1858. Administrator advertised for sale on the First Tuesday in May 1859, LOTS: 251; 252; 253; 226; 225; 222; 170; 169; 3rd District Lots 113; 112; 68; 4th District Lot 91A; Lot 117.

Isaac Moody, the progenitor of most of the large connection of Appling County Moodies, was born in South Carolina in 1774. He and his brothers Jesse and Solomon moved to Georgia about 1810. He and Jesse settled in Appling County, while Solomon went to Glynn County and afterwards to Marion County, Florida. Isaac also owned lot 70, 4th district, his home place being on the latter lot. The 3rd district lands are now in Wayne County, most of that district having been annexed to Wayne many years ago, but the 3rd district lands are still in Appling, County.

Jesse Moody was born around 1776 in South Carolina. He was a Brother of Isaac, Solomon, Jeremiah and Thomas Moody. His Father's name is unknown at this time. It could possibly have been Jesse or Thomas. Jesse Moody married Francis last name unknown. He probably did not marry until he came to Georgia, as Frances gives her birth place as Georgia.

The 1820-1850 Census of Appling County Georgia shows Jesse Moody and Family. He lived briefly in Wayne County Georgia, where he served as Justice of Inferior Court from 1824 - 1825. Jesse held the same office in Appling County Georgia from 1829 - 1833 and again from 1837 - 1841. On the 1850 Appling County Census, Jesse Moody gives his Occupation as a Minister of the Gospel.

Jesse Moody served in the Indian War in the 74th Battalion Georgia Militia. November 12, 1813, certified by Elias Fort, Major Commanding the 74th Batt. Georgia Militia.

Gabriel and Fairiby Moody are buried in an abandoned cemetery on Bullard's Creek near their old home; the graves are unmarked.
His home was on lot Number 613 in the 2nd district of Appling County. His widow, Fairiby, made a deed to this property to her children, on November 15, 1843. Deed Book ABC, page 312, Appling County.
