CLAY CENTER DISPATCH: October 6, 1886 - Mrs. C. V.Ackley and children returned &om Red Cliff last evening and will remain some time visiting &iends and relatives.

CLAY CENTER NEWSPAPER: March 27,1893 - Mrs. Ackley brought to this office the other day a copy of the Egle River, Colorado "Shaft", printed on wall paper. Tghe town is snowed in and print paper ran entirely out so the paper states. Necessity is the mother of invention.

MRS. KATHERINE AKLEY

Mrs. Katherine Akley died Saturday at her home in the south part of the city after battling nearly five years with the painful disease which she finally succumbed. The funeral was held at the residence Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Rev. John Hantz and George Basor conducting the services. The burial took place at Idana.
Katherine Basteamburg was born October 3, t 827, in New York. In 1846 she married Robert Akley and together they came to Kansas in 1878. Six children were born to them, five daughters and one SOD. Two of the daughters reside in Illinois. She joined the Dunkard church six years ago. He husband survives her at the age of83.

CLAY CENTER TIMES -13 OCT 1898

MRS. ROBERT ACKERLY - Catherine Vansteambmg was born October 31, 1827, in New York. In 1846 she was married to Robert Ackerly. In 1818, they moved to Kansas. Mrs. Robert Ackerly died of stomach troubles at her home in the south part of town, Saturday, October 8. She was 71 years, 5 days old at the time of her
death. She had been confined to her bed five weeks prior to her death and was a terrible sufferer for five ye8fJi. She Witted with the Dunkard church six years ago and was a consistent member until her death. She leaves a husband 88 years old and six children, five girts and one boy, two of which live in Illinois, the others in Kansas. Joim Honiz, assisted by George Bason, conducted the funeral services which were held at the home October 10, their text being taken from Amos 4-12 "Prepare to meet thy God I" The remains were interred in the ldana Cemetery.
