Notes for JOHN ABBE:
John Abbe, the founder of the American Abbe and Abbey families, was born in England at an unknown place but it was probably in one of the interior and central counties. It s not improbable that he was connected with the Abbye family of Staverton, Northampton. Believed to have passed from the Porte of London in 1635 in the mercht bonaventure James Ricrofte bound for Virginia.
