THE "MISSISSIPPI BARNETT'S" HOME PAGE

My BARNETT'S have been traced back to South Carolina in the 1700's, Uriah Barnett b: 1783 and Kesiah ISLEY b: 1788. From there they traveled to Franklin Co., Ga in the early 1800's and raised eight children before they moved on to Calhoun Co.,(Benton Co.) Alabama, where most of their childred married and had children on their own, between 1830 and 1840. Most of the family moved on to Mississippi around 1840. Some went to Attala Co, Winston Co., Leake Co., and Neshoba Co. Some went further north to Prentiss Co., and Tishimingo Co. Uriah and Kesiah moved to Neshoba County and lived near their daughter Isabella and Elisha Sparks.
Cassa Barnett b: 1802 married a MADDOX and is buried in Carson Ridge Cemetery in Attala Co., Ms

William Riley Barnett b: 1807 married Susan WALLY 1st and then Sarah WARREN OR WARRES. He died in Tuscaloosa, Al.

Calvin Barnett b: 1808 married Amanda (Ann) MADDOX and lived in Winston and Attala Counties in Ms. until his death in 1887

Jimina Barnett b: 1812 married Martin DAVIS in Hall Co., Ga.in 1830. They lived in Attala Co., Ms and are buried in Center Cemetery, but their graves are not marked. She died in 1907.

Freeman Hardy Barnett b: 1815 married Jemima Ann JERRELLS? in 1847. They moved from Alabama to Prentiss Co., Ms and are buried in Forked Oak Cemetery.

Crissa Barnett b: 1819 married John Ivison ROBERTS in 1838 in Calhoun Co., Al. They lived in Leake Co., Ms and are buried in Rocky Point Cemetery.

Isabella Barnett b: 1826 married Elisha SPARKS around 1846. They lived in Pearl Vally, Neshoba Co., Ms. Uriah and Kesiah lived with them for awhile and then next door. They are all buried there somewhere.
