About Our Family Research

Hi. My name is Lucy McGeachy Gray.
This page is my family tree, and with it,
I am hoping to fill in some of the missing parts of my heritage.

Originally from Georgia, the Daniel and Callaway families
left Emanuel County, Georgia around 1825
and then came to Jackson County, Florida.

William Daniel died in Emanuel County, Georgia
around 1830 or after, according to census.

The Langleys came soon after the civil war. It is believed these
families came from South Carolina to Georgia.
They were living in Monroe County, Georgia in the early 1800's.
According to an 1840 census,
Isaiah Jeremiah Langley was born in South Carolina.

Isaiah Jeremiah Langley married Caroline Calloway, daughter of Edward Calloway. Their son, Thomas Edward Langley, married Lavinia Norwood of Perry, Georgia.

As for a note on the Grays,
they were living in Campbell County, TN by 1850
and probably earlier.
They are believed to have gone from Virginia to Kentucky
after the Revolution before going to Tennessee.
