Marriage Notes for Lawrence Stanley Anderson and Emily Gertrude Wills: Perth Courier - May 1948 ANDERSON - WILLS WEDDING AT RIDEAU FERRY _ A pretty wedding was solemnized by rev. Robert Burgess of perth at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Wills, Rideau Ferry, at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 1, When their eldest daughter, Emily Gertrude, was united in marrage to Lawrence Stanley Anderson of Arrow, Sask. The bride given in marrage by her father, looked charming in a floor-length gown of white satin made on princess lines with a low scalloped neckline, edged with white lace. She wore a floor-length veil, with ruffled lace, halo style headdress set with pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. She was attended by her two sisters, Helen of Toronto and Grace of Kingston. They were dressed in floor-length matching gowns of turquoise blue taffete and matching halo headdresses. They carried nosegays of roses and snapdragons. The groom was attended by his brother, Mr. Alvin Anderson of Arran, Sask. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Stanley Wills, of Rideau Ferry. Miss Myrtle Scharf of Hamilton rendered a solo. The reception was held at Rideau Ferry Inn, where a dainty luncheon was served to sixty guests. The bride and groom received many beautiful gifts. The bride and groom left that evening for a short trip to Ottawa, Brockville and Alexander Bay, thence to Toronto, where they will leave from Malton, by plane, to reside in Winnipeg, Man.
