Robert Allen (son of John Allen and Sarah Lipscomb) was born 1802 in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, and died 1877. He married (1) Sarah Horwood on November 10, 1823 in Aston Clinton Parish Church. He married (2) Susannah Fountain on October 25, 1838 in Aston Clinton.

Note: Robert Allen married his second wife in 1838. She was a widow, Susannah Collett of Aston Turville, described as a Gentlewoman and Robert then described himself as a Farmer. Evidently Susannah died before 1851, leaving him financially independent.
Walter Robert Green, his grandson, told Anthony and Lesley on one occasion that his grandfather was the squire of Aston Clinton and that he was injured in a hunting accident and had to spend the rest of his life lying on a couch. WRG grew up in Aylesbury and was nine years old when his grandfather died.
