Jeri Jennings DalsnRoses@att.net *** I had seen that picture....Did she marry the fellow in the picture. I remember an Aunt Nora. Was she a full sister or half sister to my grandmother. I think she is the one that visited us when I was in HS and she dipped snuff. I had a big decorative pencil in my room and she stirred her snuff with it. I got rid of that pencil when she left. Was Aunt Bulah a half or whole sister? There was also Uncle Charlie that lived in Escandido, CA. and Uncle Johnson that lived in Ceres. That is all I remember. *** The Lee County Cemetery book his the following:
Cain, Mary Louiza Slaughter Wife of R. L. Cain Apr 6, 1850 - Mar 9, 1884
Cain, Oskor Orceneth Son of R. L. & M. L. Cain Nov 10, 1872 - Jul 16, 1878
Several Slaughters are listed in Lawhon Springs - Sam Smith Cemetery also. I will be glad to list them for you if you need the dates. Just let me know.

I got a phone call from my cousin Harvey Dockal tonight, he is my Mother's older sister Katie's (93) son. Anyway he was saying that his mother told him that R. L. Cain was married to an Indian woman and that is why Cinderella lost her last child from trying to help Mint take care of all those children. He said something about them all having measles at one time. He thinks maybe that is why the last child Gracy died. I believe she was 1 month old. She is the second grave in Adina Cemetery. Don't know how much truth there is to that or if he has his information crossed but I thought I'd pass it along. It might explain the dark person in the photo.
