Notes for MONTRAVILLE P. PRESSLEY: Montraville died in Kinston, N. C. (at a Confederate Camp).Got the info for Montraville from the World Family Tree Volume # 4. He enlisted in Co. B 25th Regiment NC to fight for the southern cause. He fought in many battles, but it was disease that took his life on Mau 23, 1862, at a Confederate camp. His great niece, Alene Pressley Cashatt, and great nephew, Clingman Pressley, were instrumental in getting a Civil War gravestone erected in honor of his military service. The stone is at Hooper Cemetery behind Speedwell Baptist Church in Cullowhee, Jackson Co., N. C. He is buried at Speedwell Baptist Church, Cullowhee, Jackson Co., N. C. |
