He died of a massive heart attack in his yard at home in Franklin, Macon Co., N C. His son-in-law, Ricky Rogers/Blaine was with him. They were mowing the lawn.

Lesher had a nickname "Guerney". Bob said Lesher's wife, Annie, used that name sometimes for him.

The census record shows him as being born in 1915.

Lesher Green

Franklin, NC - Services for Lesher Green, 69, of the Carson community, who died Wednesday, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.
The Revs. David Noyes, Wallace Tallent and Earl Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Haywood County to the late Will and Hester Sellers Green, he retired from the U.S. Forest Service Co. in Franklin after 20 years of service and was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Lou Pressley Green; four daughters, Doris G. Rogers, Janet G. Hardin, Frankie Ann Green, Sue Blaine, all of Franklin; three sons, Robert G. (should be E.) Green of Anderson, S C, Arthur Lesher Green, Jr. and Jerry M. Green of Franklin; three sisters, Mollie Wiggins of Franklin, Lillian Hooper of Glenville and Lorena Davis of Newark, Ark.; three brothers, Cecil Green, Clinton "Buster" Green and Wanlow Green of Franklin; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of Dr. Mike Malinovsky, Franklin, or to Louisa Chapel Cemetery, in care of Donnie Wallace, Franklin.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the services.

ANNIE LOU GREEN

Franklin, N.C. - Annie Lou Pressley Green, 88, of Wallace Branch Road died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at her residence.

A native of Jackson County, she was a homemaker, a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir.

Surviving are daughters, Doris Rogers, Janet Hardin, Frankie Ann Green and Sue Blaine, all of Franklin; sons, Robert Eugene Green of Anderson, Arthur Lesher Green, Jr. and Jerry M. Green both of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Arthur Lesher Green and the daughter of the late W.R. and Dovie Bell Shelton Pressley.

Services are at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, Franklin, N.C., by the Revs. Mike Bias and Wallace Tallent; burial will be in the Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, at other times the family will be at the home on Wallace Branch Road.

eag's note: a son of Ellis and Molly Green Wiggins, Rev. James (Jimmy) Wiggins also took part in the funeral. Rev. Wiggins was a nephew of Arthur Lesher and Annie Lou Pressley Green.

ANNIE LOU GREEN
Franklin - Annie Lou Pressley Green, 88, of Wallace Branch Road, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at her residence.
She was a native of Jackson County, a daughter of the late W. R. and Dovie Bell Shelton Pressley and was married for 53 years to Arthur Lesher Green, who passed away May 18, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir.
She is survived by four daughters, Doris Rogers, Janet Hardin, Frankie Ann Green and Sue Blaine, all of Franklin; three sons, Robert Eugene Green of Anderson, S C, Arthur Lesher Green, Jr. and Jerry M. Green, both of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Bias and Wallace Tallent officiating. Burial will be in Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Larry Green, Ricky Green, Lesher Green, Curtis Green, Paul D. Duvall, Auda Vee Green and Michael M. Rogers will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home on Wallace Branch Road.
Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Auda Vee, a grandson, who was also a pallbearer, said that during the services for Annie, that every so often a carnation petal would drop down to the floor from the spray on her casket. It made him think that the flowers were crying.
