"Forest Green
'Records from office of Adj. General, War Dept. Washington. The records of this office show that Forest Green (name also borne as Forrest Green) served in the Revolutionary war as a private in Capt. Robert Powell's Co. 3rd. Va. Regt. commanded successively by Col. Thomas Marshall and Lieut. Col. William Heth. His name appears on rolls of the company covering the period from Feb. 1777 to Feb. 1778 the last roll showing that he was discharged Feb. 14th. roll for Sept. 1777 shows him "wounded at Bethlehem." It appears that he enlisted for two years, date not stated.' "

The Military Service Record of Forrest Green [also written as Forest Green and Fores Green] is found on National Archives Microfilm M-881, Roll 953, "Compiled Service Records of Soldiers Who Served During the Revolutionary War." Copy in possession of author.
This source contains the Company Pay Roll Record and the Company Muster Roll Record of Forrest Green. The first Company Pay Roll record is dated February 1777. The pay was 6 2/3 dollars per month.
It does show him as "wounded at Bethlehem", he was sick in camp, he took a couple of furloughs to Virginia, and showed him Discharged at Valley Forge on February 14, 1778.
