Note: He was the Lord of Clare, Suffolk, Tonbridge, Kent, and Cardigan,Wales. He founded the Priory at Clare in 1090 and was granted theLordship of Cardigan by Henry I from 1107-1111. Joined the rebellionagainst King William Rufus and lost his castle of Tonebruge, dyingshortly theeafter. He was a benefactor of the church.
