Notes for D
ANIEL EDWARD GREGORY:
While Serving in WW1, he was stationed with a fellow named Mr.Tilford, Mr Tilford and my Grandfather promised each other that if they got home alive they would each name the next children after each other using their surnames. So somewhere out there is a fellow named Gregory Tilford, and my grandfather named my father Tilford Gregory.

Sadly My grandfather passed away just before his 50th wedding anniversary, although they did have an unofficial Party in June of 1970, with a lot of family members attending.

Notes for C
ARRIE GRACIE LANE:
"All our Children were born in Aurora, Missouri except Shirlene who was born in Galena Kansas, 1926, at Vester and Alta Lanes home. Dan was working in Peabody, Kansas. Shortly after she was born I went with our two children (Tilford & Shirlene) to live with my Husband in Peabody, Kansas, where we lived about 3 years. After that we returned to Aurora, Mo. Prior to this we had lived in Des Moines and Nevada, Iowa< Dan was there for Medical Care. In the year 1929 shortly after Elsworth was born we sold most of our belongings and moved to Wichita, Kansas where we lived with our 3 children for about 3 years returning to Aurora, Mo where we lived until after Earl had Ruth were born, 1933 & 1936. We bought a home on Cofield St during this time. Dan was employed at the Janeville Shoe Factory. Our home burnt down on Cofeild St, No one was hurt, but we only collected a small insurance. This we applied on another house on W. Myrtle Street and we bought the furniture in the house as it was. Here we lived for several years. Then the depression started and not much work for anyone. We had to give up our home here and rented a house on W. High Street where we lived until about the year 1942, When we moved to Milwaukee, Wisc. with all our children except Shirlene, she was married to Charley D Snider and remained in Aurora, Mo. Tilford entered the military service in Milwaukee in 1943 and served 3 years in World War 2. Shirlene and Charles Snider were married June 24 1942. To them was born 3 boys. Charley was in Army Service about 4 months. Shirlene came to Milwaukee to live with us while he was gone. Then they returned shortly after to Aurora, Mo.
In 1922-23 before we went to Iowa we invested some money in a restaurant and rooming house in Aurora, Mo, Victors Cafe. Then after about 2 years we had to sell, as Dans health was bad, and we were expecting our first baby. Dan had to go to a specialist in Des Moines shortly after our baby was born. Here he slowly improved and I and my baby son joined him there; staying with his folks for awhile until Dan was able to work and he got a job in Nevada, Iowa. We moved and rented a house and bought out first furniture. Dans younger sister Ruth age 14, lived with us and went to school there. Also one of my younger brothers, Earl Lane, visited us and stayed to work for awhile. we bought our first car while there
a 1915 model ford. Latter we traded this car in on a new 1926 model. We liked the town, but we did not like the climate here as it got so cold. Dan bought a young Airedale dog while we were here, we took him back to Mo with us. He was like one of the our family.
Tilford returned safely to our home in Milwaukee from WW2. All there so happy to have him back home again. He Married Violet shortly after, the marriage did not last and they were divorced. Then He married
Hilda Schneider (she had one child at time of marriage from her former husband) 6 Children were born to this marriage 4 girls and 2 boys. Tilford died at age 44. Elsworth & Eleanor Swenski were married 1951. He was 2 years army service, They had 2 children, a boy and a girl. Leon & Diane. Earl was married to
Betty Borchort 1954, when he was in the --some information cut off--
