I am researching the Green and Ross-White families of Hampshire, England. Robert Ross White, we believe, was originally from Ballyshannon in Eire, and through his military career which took him to many countries, finally settled in Southampton, in the early 1900's. In addition, I'm researching the families of my grandparents on my father's side, the Green's and the Buckle's. The Green's we believe may have originated in London in the 1880's and the Buckle's were long term traders in Southampton, England. I started seriously researching after the birth of my first grandchild in 1996, being inspired by a photograph of my grandparents wedding showing military uniforms, medals and women in silk gowns. This line revealed a knighthood and a Nobel prize. I have talked with distant relatives and found a number of distant cousins. We have co-operated in finding dates and names of common ancestors. I've included some information about people who are still living because it adds breadth to the information. If you find your name on my site and DO NOT want it included please feel free to email me and I'll remove all information. Other members of the extended family have contributed to the work for which I thank them. In turn, if you find a connection and send me information please let me know if I can include your relatives in my page. I would like to allow my tree to be used by others who may find connections. I am willing to share any research and sources and I welcome enquiries. I currently live in a small bayside town of Mornington, about 65km south of Melbourne, Victoria, in Australia. I moved here upon retirment after teaching here and in the UK. I have four grown children and eight school age grandchildren. Much of my original information is anecdotal, but has been confirmed through accepted resources such as BMD and census information. At the moment I have reached a blockage in the Green line. I am currenly seeking information and connections to this family. It seems likely that my grandfather William was the son of a Charles Hudson Green, who married an Eliza Hiles of Woolston, Hampshire in 1879, and they subsequently lived in London, where they are listed on the 1881 census, but no further information has come to light. I'd appreciate any information anyone has and will happily share my research with them. Any information would be appreciated, in order to confirm what I have already discovered. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
