Notes for James French Strother: James French Strother, b. at Culpeper C. H. Sep 4, 1811, d. Sept. 20, 1860; m. Nov. 2, 1832, Elizabeth Roberts, daughter of John Roberts, of Culpeper, who was commissioned major in Revolutionary War March 5, 1779. He was a member of the VA Assembly, member of the Constitutional Convention of 1850, and in Congress 1851-53. He was a lawyer; a citizen of character, and universally esteemed.
