William, youngest son of Duff Green and Anne Willis, a soldier in the revolution, married a daughter of Markham Marshall. He was Registrar of the Land Office and Clerk of the Lincoln Co Court, 1783-1816, and was the father of Gen. Duff Green, famous as an editor, as a political writer and controversialist. A daughter of the latter married Andrew P., son of Hon. John C. Calhoun, of South Carolina, and was the mother of the present John C. Calhoun of New York.
