William Green (b. Abt. 1758, d. Aft. 1816)

William Green (son of Duff Green and Ann Willis) was born Abt. 1758, and died Aft. 1816. He married Miss Marshall.

William, youngest son of Duff Green and Anne Willis, a soldier in the revolution, married a daughter of Markham Marshall. He was Registrar of the Land Office and Clerk of the Lincoln Co Court, 1783-1816, and was the father of Gen. Duff Green, famous as an editor, as a political writer and controversialist. A daughter of the latter married Andrew P., son of Hon. John C. Calhoun, of South Carolina, and was the mother of the present John C. Calhoun of New York.
