I am Cindy Brown Griggs and I have been researching my roots for about 10 years. I am married to Wade Russell Griggs. We were both born and raised in Troy, Alabama. We have two girls, Ericka (18) and Tamara (15). I am presently researching the following Surnames; Griggs, Brown, McLendon, Kirkland, Simmons, Hickman, Hall, Snead, Allen, Jackson, Dunn, McNeal, Whitehead and various others. My Mother was a McLendon a direct descendant of Dennis. My father was from Henry County, Alabama and was the son of William Clarence Brown and Bertie Kirkland. My husband's father is Robert O. Griggs son of William Henry Griggs and Lucy Bell Dunn. William Griggs was the son of Robert Griggs and Mollie Mooney. My husband's mother is Idell Allen Griggs, daughter of Freeman Allen and Della Debby Whitehead. Freeman and Della were first cousins on the Allen side. Della's father was William Harrison Whitehead, I think that he was from Dale/Houston/Henry County. I plan in the near future to add my family tree to this home page.
