Found a John Watson married to Lucy Ann Watson, daughter of Coleman Watson, on May 12, 1853. I think our John was married before he married Julia. Is this him?

Found a John Watson - age 21 - Farmer - born in Alabama - living with Joseph H Wilcox of Mo. This John is a few houses away from Jonas Whitaker. The age is correct, but the place of birth is not the same.

According to Vivian Mabe - E. J. was called Kate. I believe Kate was John's child by a previous marriage. Vivian said Kate Luellen lived in Van Alstyne in 1950.

8. JOHN⁴ WHITAKER (JONAS W.³, SAMUEL², DAVID¹) was born 1848 in Texas (Grayson?), and died 1922 in Collin County, Texas. He married ANNIE 1877. She was born January 1852 in Arkansas, and died 1925 in Collin County, Texas.
