Malinda Margaret HAGA (1851) and her husband Alexander PHIPPS (1845) raised my 2nd Great-grandmother, Martha Jane "Mattie" POLLARD (1864), as their own after Mattie's mother, Mary POLLARD, gave up custody of her children.
