Charlotte Neuman Haseley came to the US with five sons in 1843 after her husband died. Two other sons followed later after marrying in Germany. This was the start of the Haseley clan in Walmore, Niagara County, New York.


The bark, SIR ISAAC NEWTON, was built by J. Meyer of Lubeck, Germany in 1839 for Hamburg ship
owner Robert Miles Sloman. Master 1839-1842 J. Wendt, 1842-44 J. C. Wienholtz, 1845-46 P.B. Matzen.
Voyages- 1839-1849 New York exclusively, 1849-50 New York as the ROMANOV under Russian flag,
1850-52 New York as the SIR ISAAC NEWTON under the Hamburg flag. Sold in 1864 to Swedish owner.

The passenger list for the Sir Isaac Newton was found in the US Archives microfilm M237 roll 53 list 783.
