I am interested in finding out more about this old newspaper. It was published on Thursdays by C.W. Mathison who I believe is Charles Wesley Mathison (1872-1940), the son of Rev. James Levin Mathison. The Alabama Department of Archives and History has the following years of The Free Press on microfilm: 1896 September 17 - 1900 December 27.
