Most of my ancestors came to America in the early to mid 1800's and settled in the area around New Orleans, Louisiana.
FRENCH ANCESTORS - My Gruntz/Schmitt/Hill ancestors were from the Alsace region of France, Haut Rhin, and came to Louisiana in 1852 and 1873. Casteix/Anglade/Artigues families came from the Haute Pyrenees and Haute Garonne regions of France @ 1850.
IRISH ANCESTORS - My Dwyer/Norton/Davey/Callagy ancestors came from Counties Roscommon, Galway, & Queens @ 1840.
GERMAN ANCESTORS - My Thedy ancestors originated in what is now Gressonney St. Jean, Italy, migrated to Baden Germany before emigrating to America in @ 1854.
SWISS ANCESTORS - My Jenny ancestors were from Ennenda, Canton Glarus, Switzerland.
Additionally, my children's ancestral lineage includes colonial Louisiana.
