JOHANN JACOB GÜDEMANN (son of JACOB ADAM GÜDEMANN and Anna Barbara Kropf) was born February 25, 1784 in Marzell, Baden, Germany, and died December 18, 1853 in Vogelbach, Baden, Germany. He married (1) Maria Barbara Oswaldin on June 02, 1807 in Vogelbach, Baden, Germany (1st marriage), daughter of Simon Oswald and Margaretha Motschen. He married (2) Anna Maria Meyerin on August 14, 1824 in Vogelbach, Baden, Germany (2nd marriage).

Matthias, the twin son born in 1824, died four days after birth, and his mother died three days later. Both twins were immediately baptized at home because they were too weak to be carried to the church. The twin daughter, Anna Barbara, lived and married and had several children.

The children's great-grandmother was Anna Maria Oswaldin and their mother was Maria Barbara Oswaldin. To find a common paternal ancestor, if any, it would be necessary to go back in time before records were kept. Anna Maria was the daughter of Hans Oswald of Malsburg, and Maria Barbara was the daughter of Simon Oswald of Wambach/Vogelbach.

After Johann Jacob's first wife died in March 1824, it took him less than five months to marry a 29 year old local bride. He was 40 years old with seven children, ranging in ages from five months to sixteen years, at the of the marriage.

Johann Jacob Güdemann and his second wife, Anna Maria Meyerin, were third cousins, their common ancestor being Johann Güdemann (1643) of Endenburg/Kaltenbach. Johann Jacob was a descendant of Jacob (1678), and Anna Maria was a descendant of Jacobs's brother Johannes (1694).

Johann Jacob was a shoe maker and a farmer.

Johann Jacob and his second wife, Anna Maria Meyer, were third cousins, both being descendants of Johann Güdemann and Maria Strohmeyer.
