I am researching the ancestors of my grandmother, IRENE FANNON; b. 5 September 1918 in Sallisaw, OK. Her parents were JOHN W. FANNON; b. 7 May 1891 in Sallisaw, OK; and IDA MAE ATKERSON; b. 26 November 1891 in Alabama. John W. Fannon was the son of JAKE FANNON and NANNY BATES. Ida Mae Atkerson was the daughter of JEFF D. ATKERSON and ALICE CAVES. I am also researching the ancestors of my grandfather, CHARLIE WILSON WHITTED; b. 3 January 1916 in Chickasaw County, MS. His parents were ELIJAH WHITTED; born 6 May 1887 in North Carolina; and LULA MAE WOOTEN; b. 7 May 1892 in Chickasaw County, MS. Elijah Whitted was the son of BENJAMIN ALEXANDER WHITTED and MARY CATHERINE HURST. Lula Mae Wooten was the daughter of JIM WOOTEN and VICIE WAGGONER DAVIS.
