Briefly, about David R. Guinnup & Diana L. (Stone) Guinnup:

Originally, both my wife and I were born in Indiana, she in Gary (Lake County) and me in Marion (Grant County). We met at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and were married in 1970. Diana and I have three adult children: Christopher Dane Guinnup (1983), Geoffrey Ryan Guinnup (1985), and Kelsey Sarinna Guinnup (1987).

My family roots in Indiana are deeper and broader than Diana's. For an overview of the ancestors of David R. Guinnp & Diana L. (Stone) Guinnup see the file entitled "Famliy Ancestors Overview" in the file list portion of this web page (below).

Current Research Emphasis & Approach:

I am very interested in finding the link, if it exists, among all those individuals with the Guinnup surname that have roots or connections in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, and elsewhere. My great-grandfather James Edward Guinnup (1835-1921) and his wife Ellen E. M. (Weber) Guinnup (1849-1920) lived in Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana in the late 19th century (see photos). James E. Guinnup's parents are Charles W. Guinnup (1809-1863) and Frances (Fanny) Street (1807-1860), both buried near Gaston, Delaware County, Indiana. "Dutch" John Gwinnup (1783-1873) and Theodocia Norcross (1789-1867) were the parents of Charles W. Guinnup. Both John Gwinnup and Thedocia were born in New Jersey, and died in Rush County, Indiana (Rushville). John's father, George Gwinnup (1754-1840), moved from New Jersey to Hamilton County, Ohio to take advantage of the "bounty" land grant awarded him for his Revolutionary War service as a sergeant in the New Jersey 2nd Infantry Regiment. Ellen Weber's parents were John Weber(1816-1907) and Julia Ann Grosengene(1822-1880) and migrated from Germany or Switzerland between 1835-1840.

I am looking for information on their ancestors, siblings, and cousins; and attempting to identfy and contact key living people with the Guinnup, Weber, or Grosengene surnames, learn their roots and identify common ancestors. I encourage those with the Guinnup surname or ancestor or relative with the Guinnup surname to contact me.
Photopgraphs for which I am searching:

Photos of Dr. Gideon P. Kidd, Dr. James Gordon Kidd, Dr. James L. Dicken (especially, in his civil war uniform), C.L. Dicken, and any of Gideon P. Kidd's children and their descendants (e.g., Mooney, Hart, Rogers, Brenneman, Guinnup, etc.) Also, photographs of Weber family members, and those Major Meredith H. Kidd and his descendants (e.g., Rose Kidd Beere).
I am willing to share with others what I have been able to collect and learn, also.

Note: My personal web page & Blog are being reconstructed on a different ISP. Stay tuned for announcments & links shortly.
