Looking for the following families: Guinn. McCollum, Todd, Johnston, Pennington and Bolling and all other families related from Eastern Kentucky. The counties from which I have found most of my information are: Jackson, Madison, Perry, Rockcastle, Clay, Owsley and Laurel. There are numerous people that I must give thanks to. You will come across their names I'm sure in the Genforum. There is Laura Brow, Becky Sweitzer, and Sue Johnson who have helped me with the Johnston family. There is Ran Raider who was so very helpful with the Todd genealogy. His website on the Todd family is wonderful. There was John T. Stephens to whom I wrote several letters and his responses helped me figure out the problems with my Guinn genealogy.May he rest in peace. Regarding the McCollum/McCollom family, there is nothing but everlasting thankfulness that I found Laura and Jerry Kaufman of Dyer, Indiana in August of 2004.Without Laura's help, the information on the McCollum/McCollom side of the family would still be at a total standstill. As of this posting in October of 2005 there is more data to be posted than I can keep up with.I just added a few items to the website. The photo of John Reilly McCollum/McCollom was found by Laura. She found the family who has a host of information on the McCollum/ McCollom family. That photo was pretty much the holy grail of this whole genealogy effort. Addendum to the above paragraph, 06 August 2014. DNA tests taken with familytreedna.com indicate that Chester Arthur Guinn was the genetic son of possibly Joshua Kimbrell and Mary Ann Johnston.Hence,Thomas Franklin Guinn would be, genetically speaking, Chester's stepfather. All the other children borne by Mary Ann Johnston are the children of Thomas Franklin Guinn.Thomas Franklin Guinn, again was the eldest son of John R. McCollum/McCollom and Mary Margaret Guinn. Regarding the Pennington family, I have just found on the GenForum a posting by Kimberly Hahn.It is posting number 884.She has posted information that I have never had. It's a wonderful posting As I get time I will acknowledge more people who have given me information or helped me with leads. Thanks to all! Michael C. Guinn
