I am researching the Gummels family from Germany. Heinrich Remmer Gummels born on Jan. 30, 1811 at Jever near Oldenburg.He bought the Harkensche property (later called Parkhaus) He went to Suriname and later married to Dyonisia Catharina van Meerten born 1821.They had a son Gerhard Heinrich Gummels born 1848 in Suriname.

I am also researching the Christie family from Aberdeen, Scotland. William Christie born May 8, 1799 and married Jane Allan born June 27, 1801. He went to Suriname with 4 daughters and left 3 sons behind in Scotland.
