I am mainly staying in the state of Pennsylvania even though 3 of the known sons, Samuel, Phillip & Daniel immigrated to NC. Tract of land of Montgomery Co., PA, that has remained in the same family since its settlement by William Penn, is the homestead of the JARRETT family, which has become so numerous & widely scattered. Samuel Carpenter, in 1702, obtained from Willaim Penn 5008 acres of land, & for one English silver shilling for every 100 acres, which he disposed of to different parties of the early settlers, & in 1709 that now known as the "JARRETT HOMESTEAD FARM,".John JARRETT took possession of said farm in 1726 with wife Mary LUKEN JARRETT In Germantown Court Records mention is made in 1703 of Jacob GERRET, which is reason for believing this family to be of German origin.John GARRET is thus called in the list of 1734 as owning 200 acres. He was one of the founders of the Hatboro Library in 1755 & a director from 1761 to 1764.In 1776, William JARRETT was rated in Horsham for 176 acres; Jonathan JARRETT, 100 acres; Wiliam JARRETT in 1805, 236 acres. ---------------------------------------------------------------- What I would like is to connect my great grandfather Solomon Jarrett b) 23 Nov 1818 d) 31 Mar 1899 Alvira, Gregg Twp., Union Co., PA bur) Old Stone Church, Alvira, Union Co., PA M)Christiann ROLLERb) 10 Oct 1817 Germany Christ Lutheran Cemetery (Stone Church) Alvira, Gregg Twp., Union Co., PA Jarrett, Infant s/o W.S. & P.W. 1913 Jarrett, Henry s/o Solomom & Christean d.
