Johannes Artus arrived in the US in 1854. His wife (and probably his children) did not arrive until 1861.

Possibly the John Artus shown in the 1860 Census of Milwaukee Co. WI on page 407. His naturalization papers are not found in Milwaukee County.

Land holdings: 117 acres obtained in 3 lots between 1873-1885; township 29N, range 6E, sections 17 and 19, via the Wausau land office.

OHN LANGSDORF:
Johann Langdorf was born in Pohl-Goens, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. He made his initial Declaration of Intention for naturalization in Green Lake Co., Wisconsin on November 1, 1858. He stated that he was born in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany in 1830. And, he emigrated to the United States in June 1857, landing at the Port of New York.

Six months after "John" emigrated, his wife had a daughter in Germany. She and the children later joined him.

Obituary of John Langsdorf Sr., Saturday, 11 Mar 1905, Red Wing Daily Republican:
John Langsdorf, an old resident of Goodhue county, died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. Buchholz, in Minneola. He was born in Germany and was 74 years old. He leaves seven children, one of whom is Mrs. W. Schultz of Red Wing.

In the 1900 Census he was living in Wausau, Marathon Co. WI as a widower with his brother Anton. He must have returned to Minnesota before his death in 1905.

Probably the Katharina Spiess b. 4 Feb 1836 in Pohl-Goens, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, daughter of Anton Spiess and Katharina Kollmar. This is confirmed by her marriage record, which states that she was 17 years 8 months old at her marriage. This calculates to Feb 1836.

In his naturalization papers John states that he arrived in the USA in June 1857. Katherine bore her last child in Germany in December 1857, which means that she must have arrived after John, but before June 1860 when her next child was born in Wisconsin.
