Notes for T
HERESA AUGUSTIN:
Theresa immigrated from Germany in 1869 when she was about 17. In Wisconsin she met and married (as his third wife) Anton Langsdorf, an older German immigrant.

Notes from Emma Langsdorf Bonner, Theresa's granddaughter:
Her grandma Theresa was living with Emma Langsdorf Fritsch in Wausau, Wisconsin after Theresa's husband Anton died. When Emma died, Theresa's son George went to Wausau and brought his mother Theresa home with him to Sandpoint, Idaho. She lived to be almost 94, and died there in Sandpoint. To Emma Bonner's recollection her grandma was not blind (as has been said), but of course she was quite feeble. (This was likely in 1940 when Emma L. Fritsch died, and Emma Langsdorf Bonner was probably married and on her own by then.)

Vol 39 ED-76 Sheet 8 Line 6

Langsdolph, Frank Head Dec 1876, 23y Wisconsin
enumerated as a boarder with Schwan?, Alelaphone
(It appears that Frank might had been counted twice)

Per census records for 1910: Anton had been married twice by the age of 42, when he married as his third wife Theresa (her first marriage) in about 1875, who was about 23 years old. She bore him 6 children, of whom 4 survived. He ran a hotel in Wausau, Marathon Co. WI. His son Frank was single, living with him, and working as a hotel clerk, probably for Anton. They lived at 1201 3rd Street.

The hotel must have been quite large to have a saloon and 36 boarders, and was apparently quite prosperous. Family recollections of a sister of Theresa state that Anton and his wife had a drawer stuffed with money. They also recall that Theresa was blind in her later years. She was living with her daughter Emma (Langsdorf) Fritsch in 1920, after Anton died, the last time we find her in the Wisconsin records. She died while living with her son George in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Marriage Record: The database on Ancestry.com does not show a matching pair of people married for 11 Jan 1875 in Columbia County. It only shows Anton Langsdorf. Then we see Theresa Langsdorf vol 02 record 0269 06 Jun 1875 (The record shows her listed as Langsdorf but parents as Augustin... quite a few records show the bride with married name instead of maiden even though instructions say "name previous to marriage")
Anton Langsdorf vol 02 record 0269 11 Jan 1875 (Most likely the data operator entered the date of registration and mistook 17 for 11)

*Possibly* the Frank Langsdorf, b. in Germany, who married Ida Scholl and was the father of Ella "Langdorf", b. 2/22/1900 in Milwaukee, WI. (Ella had no siblings at her birth.) Milwaukee Co. courthouse birth record.

However-- Census records from 1905 and 1910 show him living with his parents in Wausau, Wisconsin, and state that he was born in Wisconsin. He was a clerk in a hotel, probably his father Anton's.
