Records say William was a D.D. (Doctor of Divinity?) of Blisalnd and of Warleggon in Cornwall. He left Browholme Hall in Yorkshire (northeast England) and in 1580 settled in the county of Cornwall (southeast England). This move was in excess of 500 miles in distance. He married Joan Planchard of Wiltshire and they made their home at Tragoe (Trawgo) in the Parish of Warleggon. He was Justice of Peace in the County of Cornwall for awhile. About 1616, he became Archdeacon of Blisland Parish Curch in Cornwall after being admitted into that rectory in 1601.
