|HAAS is my last name which I have very little knowledge about. My father was from Ohio, and one of three brothers: His name Valde and his brothers: Verle and Voil.Names, which I researched, on my mother's side are much easier to research. "James Flett", my great, great grandfather, one of at least four brothers: John, David, and William came from Red River Manitoba to Oregon, in 1841. They were members of the Sinclair Party. Hudson Bay Company Archives have helped here.
"John Nelson Moad", my great grandfather, came from Tennessee to California in 1850. Then he came to Oregon.
Mark Painter, my grandfather, came from Tennessee to Oregon sometime in latter half of 1800s, I believe.
I would apprecaite any further information on any of these names.
Another name I am researching is Samuel Parker. He came from upstate New York to the Oregon Territory in 1836, with Marcus Whitman. He returned to live in New York.
