Welcome to the William H. Pound Home Page. This genealogy site is dedicated to my great-grandfather, William H. Pound. Unfortunately, he died of diseases in a Civil War encampment outside of Richmond in June of 1862 exactly one week before William Jefferson Pound, my grandfather was born. Consequently, we have no family stories about him. This work in progress is a tribute to the man that established a family in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1849, so that his descendants may continue to know where it all began. I further acknowledge the early genealogy work completed by my aunt, Eather Rebecca Pound Kraft that allowed me to know where to begin my research.
