Michigan 1st m: October 26,1826 Vermont Philinda George b: November 13,1802 Stafford Twp., Orange Co., Vermont d: August 1832 Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan Children: 1) George Simon Sherburne b: November 27,1827 Newport, Orleans Co., Vermont d: February 3,1904 Ovid, Clinton Co., Michigan Buried: Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, Michigan m: March 16,1856 Duplain, Clinton Co., Michigan Wife: Mary Letts (Mary died a few days after the birth of theirfourth daughter, in Ovid Michigan) 2) Osmus Sherburne b: April 8,1829 d: April 22,1829 Newport, Orleans Co., Vermont 3) Caroline Clark Sherburne b: June 20,1830 Newport, Orleans Co., Vermont d: March 10, 1910 Ovid, Clinton Co., Michigan ( Caroline never married, she went and helped her brother George raise his four girls, after Mary's death) 4) Joseph Osmus Sherburne b: February 1832 Vermont d: August 15, 1837 Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan 5) John F. Sherburne b: March 6, 1836 Newport, Orleans Co., Vermont d: October 9, 1902 Brady, Saginaw Co., Michigan buried: Ridge Road Cemetery Chapin Twp., Saginaw Co., Michigan m: August 28,1859 Clinton Co., Michigan Wife: Jemima Waite (John and Mima had children. John was in the Civil War. I have a letter that John wrote to his sister Caroline when he was in the Civil War. In this letter John, talks about Mima.) 6) William Sherburne b: July 14,1836 Michigan d: August 25, 1837 Michigan ****** ********* Does anyone know why Philinda George Sherburne and three of her children died in Michigan in 1837?? ****** ********* Samuel Sherburne 2nd Marriage, he married ??? Cole,she was born abt. 1818 in Osceola Co.,Michigan Children: 1) William O. Sherburne b: January 12, 1840 Osceola Co., Michigan d: February 2, 1902 Grand Rapids, Kent Co., Michigan Buried: Soliders' Home, Grand Rapids, Mich. 2) Samuel Sherburne b: 1842 Osceola Co., Michigan d: Andersonville, Sumter Co., Georgia Buried: Andersonville, Sumter Co., Georgia (Andersonville was a POW Camp in the Civil War) If anyone has any info on any of these people I would appreciated hearing from you.
