Bigby/Jones Family Home Page

I am currently searching for information on several of my family names. My biggest problems at the present time are with my Great Great Grandfather, YOUNG CLEVELAND (CLEVELAN) HENRY. He married HATTIE MARTHA PERDUE. YC was born in Arkansas and married Hattie in Kaufman Co Texas. Y C Henry just seems to have suddenly appeared in Texas. The other major problem area has been my STUART line. My Great Great Grandfather was JOHN ANDREW STUART who married MARTHA SARAH PERDUE in Kaufman Co. They had two children, CHARLES WILLIAM STUART (my Great Grandfather) and MABLE STUART who married a man named WITT. John Andrew, according to family stories was killed about 1900 in Van Zant Co. where he was working on a large ranch. He is suppose to have fallen from his horse and been killed. Martha was in the 1900 census living with her Brother, MARCUS PERDUE and Father, WILLIAM PERDUE in Kaufman Co. Texas. Her two children were also listed in the household. The older family members believe they were told that John Andrew came from Virginia and remember seeing a picture of his brothers and sisters at a popular Va. site, but they don't know where it has gone or where it was.
My grandmother Bigby left me a book compiled by her grandmother, CORNELIA GILMORE (TERRY) REDFORD. It was added to by various members of my family until it came to me about 1980. I am currently attempting to scan the pages so that they may be added to this for others to use.
