Last original oak tree at Grove Methodist Church
This is a picture of the last remaining black oak tree of the original grove from which the Grove Methodist Church takes its name. Picture taken in January 2002. This tree was originally on the farm of George and Mary Eve Hoffman. They donated an acre of land including the original oak grove in 1774 to the church trustees. Church services and many local social events were held under the oak trees during the late 1700's into the 1800's.
