William Malcolm died in 1723 in Tillybirlach, in the Parish of Midmar,Aberdeenshire, Scotland,leaving 4 daughters and 4 sons. William's descendants to my grandfather Alexander John Malcolm were:
William* Malcolm, married Janet Wagrel and lived at Tillybirlach. In 1727 they had a son called Alexander(1) Malcolm. This *Alexander(1)moved to Scraphead, in the parish of Kemnay, around 1760. He married Marjorie Kemp in Kemnay in 1765. They had 8 children: Janet, Alexander, William, Harry, George* and Robert (twins), Elizabeth, and Andrew.
George* Malcolm married Ann Laing in 1822, and lived at Scraphead. They had 4 children: Ann, John, Alexander(2), and Isabella.
Alexander*(2) married Isabella Littlejohn in 1849 and had 15 recorded children born to them in Kintore between 1849 and 1875.
Their third child James* Malcolm was my great grand father.
James* was born in 1852. He married Isabella Hadden in 1872 in the Parish of Echt. The family came to New Zealand in 1874. There were 8 sons and no daughters. James and Isabella's second son Alexander John*(my grandfather) was born 1875 in Dunedin, New Zealand. Alexander John married 3 times and fathered 18 Malcolm children in New Zealand. The youngest child of his was my mother Margaret Rose Malcolm.
