I am researching my Haegele, Serrahn, Spude, and Grovogel ancestors. I have traced back to the first of each family to arrive in the States and am continuing to probe further.

The Haegeles arose in Wurttemburg. My great great grandfather, Henry (Heinrich) emigrated in the 1850's via Amsterdam. They have mainly been farmers and factory workers since arriving in the States.

The Serrahns were from Mecklenberg-Schwerein. They have also mainly been farmers in the early days of their American sojourn. There is a Serrahn-Linstedt reunion the third Saturday of July in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin at Ottumba park.

The Spudes came from Stettin and were masons. There is a Spude reunion the third Sunday of every July in Brussels, WI at the village park.

The Grovogels have been rather elusive for me so far. They have been farmers and commercial fishermen since arrival in the US.

I would appreciate any help any one can provide. If there is anything I can do for anyone related to Kewaunee County, WI. Let me know and I will give what help I can.

I have served as President of the Kewaunee County Historical Society. I have been doing genealogy for about 8 years now.
