The Haffner family tree goes back to Germans immigrating out of Russia. I have been able to trace Johann Haffner back to Bergdorf (Saint Petersberg) Russia. He was married to Elizabeth Heupel and they had four sons, Carl, Friedrich, Jacob, and David. David Haffner was my husbands Grandfather. The other side of my husband family tree is the Burnison side. His Grandfather, William Alonzo Burnison was married to Fleda Moore (his second wife)and I have not been able to find any information on his or her back ground. The Haffner tree has roots in the states of Oklahoma and Washington.

I am also researching my side of the family, which is the Short, Pritchett, Hitchcock and Sherratt side. This side of the family have roots in Ohio, Illinois, and Minnesota,Oregon and Washington. My Great Grandfather, William Burton Short was in the Civil War according to some old papers that were found. He was a Union soldier in Company C of the Indiana Infintry. I haven't been able to find any information on this subject.
