Updated September 5, 2000

My 4x great grandparents John Haffey and Ann Quinn married in Navan, co Armagh, Ireland in Nov 1802. Their children were Bernard born in 1803, Thomas born in 1805, Mary born in 1807, Catharine born in 1809, John born in 1811, Eliza born in 1814, Shusan born in 1816, Michael born in 1825 and Allice born in 1827. They also had a son named Peter born bet 1817 and 1825 that I found through the ads in the Boston Pilot newspaper. Bernard Haffey was my 3x gr grfa. He married Mary Lennon in co Armagh. My 2x gr grfa Terence Haffey immigrated to the U.S. in Sept. 1848. He married Margaret Rossley who hailed from Nova Scotia. Terence had a brother named John that Immigrated about 1847 from Warren Point, Newry, co Down. John had lived in Granmore, parish of Keady, co Armagh. Thomas Haffey (bro of Bernard) married Margaret (Peggy) Donnelly in Navan. They immigrated to the U.S. in the 1830's lived in Portland, Maine.

If you are a Haffey I would be happy to hear from you. I am researching Haffey/Haffy surnames from U.S. census records.
