The Belanger and Brenneisen families of Chebanse, Illinois

The Belanger family emigrated from Canada in the mid-1800's to the area around Bourbonnais, Illinois. They later moved to Chebanse, Illinois. This was a large family and other surnames that appear are as follows: Barceleau, Brenneisen, Brousseau, Duby, Endres, Gagnon, Hannah, Koser, Martinson, Meade, Menard, Scott, and Vaillencourt.
The Brenneisen ancestor emigrated from Baden Baden, Germany in the mid-1800's. He lived in OH where he married and had two daughters before enlisting in the Infantry to serve for one year in the Civil War. Upon being discharged, he and his family moved to Chebanse, Illinois. Another daughter was born along with two sons. Other surnames that appear are as follows: Ader, Belanger, Cornelison, Emme, Green, Hansen, Johnson, Lemke, McCullough, Peters, Shirk, Skaggs, Tayler, Wakeman and Winterer.
