The home was built in Taylor County, Florida in 1863 by the Whiddon Family. It was purchased by Daniel Blue in 1909. It was relocated to a Florida State Park in Perry, Taylor County, Florida and now stands as a representation of the typical Florida Cracker Home. Out buildings, cane press, chicken coop, smoke house, etc., are behind the home.

The Hendry Plantation is now part of the U.S. Army Fort Stewart. The family was buried at Hendry's cemetery which is located about 3 miles northwest of Taylor's Creek Methodist Cemetery. The tombstones of Robert. 1752-1830, his wife Ann Lee, 1753-1834 and some of their children and grandchildren were moved to the Methodist Cemetery at Taylor's Creek. Many other Hendry's are buried here as well.

This passport was issued in 1803 to William McCall and Malachi Hagin for passage through the Creek Indian Territory. William McCall requested it so they could explore further into Georgia and Florida. It seems this exploration led the way for John Hagin and at least 3 of his children to move into Camden County, Georgia before 1810. Malachi was the 4th child to move there between 1820 and 1822.
