Mark Alan Haller 1424 Dutchess Avenue Kettering,Ohio 45420-3445 1.937.974.8476 | I am researching the HALLER family from Greene County, OH. Gabriel Haller was born somewhere in Wuerttemberg, Germany around 1832. He married Rosina ROHRER, the daughter of Jacob Rohrer and Cara MACHT.Gabriel shows up in the Passenger and Immigration files as coming to America in 1855.His oldest daughter, Karolina Haller, was also born in Wuerttemberg in November of 1855.My guess is that Rosina and Karolina came over to the States at a later date. Gabriel and his family show up in Cincinnati, Ohio in the city directory around 1862 and stay until 1867.In 1869, their youngest son, George Haller, was born somewhere in Brown County, Ohio.In 1872, the family permanently moves to Xenia, Greene County, Ohio.Gabriel and Rosina are both buried in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. I have been unable to establish any connection "across the pond" in the old country. No birth, marriage, or immigration records have been found yet. Please contact me if you have any information.I will gladly share what I have. I am also researching the Charles BURNS Sr. family from Halifax or Henry County, Virginia.Charles was born about 1720 in either Henry County, VA or somewhere in Scotland. The records are unclear. He married Mary Webb about 1745 in Virginia. One of his sons, William Burns Sr., later moved to the Clay County-Owsley County area of Kentucky. This is where my relatives came from. Please contact me if you have any information.I will gladly share what I have. |
