1850 census Liberty, Guernsey Co, Ohio, Thomas is a 26 year old Tailor born in Ohio with his wife and two children. Next door is Elisha Blampied a 55 year old Tailor with his wife and 4 children ages 12, 11 7 and 5. Possible that Elisha is the father of Thomas. Elisha is born "Isle of Guernsey". Based on 1840 census of Cambridge, Guernsey Co. Ohio, I feel confident enough that Elisha is the father of Thomas. 1840 shows Elijah "Blompy" with the following males age 5-10 1-(Elisha), 10-15 1-(unknown), 15-20 1-(Thomas) 40-50 1-(Elijah) and females under 5 2-(Mary and Sarah), 10-15 1(unknown,), 30-40 1-(Elizabeth)
Per on line civil war information.....Thomas Blampied enlisted as a Private on 22 February 1864 at the age of 40. Enlisted in Company B, 122 Infantry Regiment Ohio on 22 February 1864. Died as a prisoner on 11 Nov 1864 in Danville VA. Need to order civil war records for this person
