1840 Grayson Co., VA Fed Census, p. 304 lists Joseph Hale age 20-30, 1 son under 5, and wife age 20-30. That would make both Joseph and Margaret b. 1810-1820, corroborating Burris Hale bible that Margaret was born 1816.
