Richard's father was probably named Vachel or Vatchel, who at one time, lived in Turkeyfoot Township in Somerset Co., PA.
Related families include Shaffer, Fry, Whipkey, Erlewine, Summers, Royce, and Goff. All these lived in Greene Co., PA,
Monongalia, Preston, and Calhoun Counties in WV.
