Levi Hamilton is a native of Kentucky, Adair Co. His father (whom was not named but according to records filed 5-9-1850 in Adair Co. Court Levi is an heir of Thomas Hamilton) was a native of Ireland; was brought to this country in an early day, and sold to pay his passage, served seven years with first master; transferred and served seven with the second; got possession of his credentials, and ran away; came back into the same neighbourhood a year or two afterwards and married; migrated to Adair Co. Kentucky, in the early settlement of that state; raised a large family.

The Hamilton, Walnut Grove Cemetery Records says he came to this country with his parents and later bound out to pay his passage. He then served a total of fourteen years under 2 different masters;

Thomas is 60-70 yrs. which would have him born between 1760-1770. His wife was between 50-60yrs. 1F (15-20) must be Amanda.
John, Merrit and Levi are all listed together - should be Thomas's sons; John has an extra M & extra F listed with him, possibly siblings??

Lists the property of Thomas Hamilton and the sale of his property

Hardin Co. Kentucky Deed Book A August 25, 1809 has a Thomas Hamilton listed as a son of David Hamilton who died in New Bern in North Carolina. Some researchers believe this to be our Thomas Hamilton.

Marriage Bond, found in a box of marariage bonds in the Adair Co. court house in Columbia, Kty. It is signed by Thomas Hamilton and John Caldwell on October 24, 1833.

John P. Caldwell & Lucy his wife sell property to Frederich A.W. Robertson. This is probably when they left Kentucky.
