Mayberry served in the War of 1812 under Richard Daley and Dabney Collier (Virginia Military) He was a private in the 1st Reg. who was drafted in Joseph? Towns. in Mecklenberg County, Va. He enlisted September 1, 1814 and was honorably dishcharged at Camp Powell Creek, Prince George County, Va. on December 1, 1814. He signed his pension papers with an X.

#17 A Deed from Elias Putnam to Mayberry Bowen for land joining lands of Elias Putnam and others dated the 15th day of March 1841 was duly proven by the oath of John R. Logan in open court.

#22 A Deed from Mayberry Bowen to David Miller for 64 acres of land dated the 18th of Oct. 1841 was duly proven in court by the oath of John R. Logan a subscribing witness.
