4. BENJAMIN2 BOWEN (MAYBERRY 1) was born February 27, 1818 in Va., and died July 10, 1874 in Cleveland County, N.C., Price Hamrick Cem.. He married ELIZABETH HAMRICK, daughter of John Hamrick and Elizabeth Robertson.

Cleveland County Court Minutes 1841-1843
A Deed from Benjamin Bowen to Minor W. Smith for 80 acres of land was duly acknowledged in open court by the assignee Benjamin Bowen, done the 8th day of Aug. 1842, dated 16th Dec. 1839.

A Deed from G.G. Bowen to Benjamin Bowen for his interest in Elizabeth Hamrick's tract of land, his mother-in-law was duly acknowledged in open court by G.G. Bowen dated 2nd April 1837-done 8th Aug. 1842.

A Deed from Nicey Hamrick to Benjamin Bowen for his interest in Elizabeth Hamrick's land, was duly proven by oath of James Y. Hamrick. dated 27th April 1837-done 8th Aug. 1842.
