Getting more details of this family is going to be a lifetime work by the look of it. James Lockhart was in the Ayrshire militia when he married and I haven't been able to locate the places of birth for their children.
The older Isabella Lockhart came out to New Zealand in 1840 and was one of the first immigrants to Wellington. She married Jock McGregor because he needed a wife and she was available, they were the first couple to inhabit Wanganui and a book has been written about them called 'Making Waves'. More of the family followed her out to NZ in 1851 and settled near Isabella either in Wellington or Wanganui.
